Both our boats are available for private trips of up to 12 people on weekdays outside school holidays.
Marsden
We offer a trip starting at Tunnel End or lock 42E near Marsden Station, going downstream through 6 locks to a turning point near The Little Lock Café. The café is open from 10 till 5 daily except Tuesdays. It is a good place to stop for something to eat & drink and very usefully has toilets (there are none on board). The round trip takes about 4 hours including an hour in the café. We provide an experienced crew of three volunteers to operate the boat & locks.
Uppermill
We offer a trip starting at the museum and going upstream through two locks. We turn near the Transhipment Warehouse and park for an hour to allow passengers to visit The Limekiln Café which has toilets ( there are none on the boat ). The round trip takes about 3 hours including the hour in the café. We provide an experienced crew of three volunteers to operate the boat & locks.
The hire fee is payable at the time of booking but a full refund will be given if your trip cannot go ahead due to navigation restrictions .
