HCS e-Shuttle Launch, 2022

Trip boats

We currently have two 12 seater boats. They run from early spring until the end of October each year and are operated by fully trained unpaid volunteers. Our all electric ‘Marsden e-Shuttle’ boat runs back & forth between Marsden Station and the Tunnel End Cottages. Our other diesel ‘little blue boat’ runs short round trips in Uppermill from the top of the steps by the Saddleworth Museum.

Volunteers undergo a programme of training and, if they wish, have the opportunity to train for a Certificate of Community Boat Management and become an authorised skipper for the Shuttle.

Please contact boating@huddersfieldcanal.org.uk if you are interested in helping to crew our boats!
